Hi, I’m Tina!
I’m the founder and CEO of Silver Lining Design Studio, and an award–winning interior designer in the commercial design world, eh hem…
Over my 25+ years in the design world, my clients have asked for tips, inspiration, and creative flare…and now I’m offering my expertise to you.
Staying out of the commercial field allowed me the space and time to help friends and family when they would ask for help in designing their homes. I worked tirelessly, teaching myself the ins and outs of residential design, and I couldn’t be happier about it in the long run.
Even though I put my career on hold to care for my children, God sprinkled enough consultant work throughout that time, allowing me to grow my skills and keep one foot in the industry.
When I started to move into residential design, my home life required more of me than my corporate job would allow. I desperately needed to find work that would allow me to step into becoming my mother’s primary caregiver, as well as navigate parenting a neurodiverse child. Although it is not design related, I am passionate about this area of my life; you can read it on my caregiving blog.
I started Silver Linings Design Studio, my own interior design business, and began my journey as an entrepreneur. Though challenging on MANY levels, with God’s promise to always guide me, I overcame my fears and obstacles.
Because I enjoyed working with individual clients so much, creating spaces to fit their needs, from practical design to creating their dream kitchen, to helping their spaces embody their essence and vision, I decided to begin my online design journey.
I LOVE helping others create spaces they feel inspired by and are proud of, and really enjoy going on that journey together. I may be the expert, but you will enjoy the comfort we create together for years to come, so it should be your dream come true. Not mine.
I want to make designing your space accessible, even if you don’t think it’s possible, because I believe in you, my friend! I believe that everyone has a creative side. You just need to learn how to access it, release it, and give yourself permission to do it! Together we will:

“Every cloud has a silver lining.”
What is the meaning of my business name?
Why Silver Lining?
[meaning] something good that can be found in a bad situation
“Silver lining” refers to the positive aspect or advantage found in a challenging or difficult situation. The phrase originates from the idea that even in dark or cloudy circumstances, there can be a bright side, much like how a silver lining can appear around the edge of a cloud during ominous conditions. This concept encourages people to focus on the potential benefits, growth, or lessons that can arise from adversity. It promotes optimism and resilience by reminding individuals that there is often something valuable to be gained from even the most trying experiences. The notion of a silver lining underscores the idea that setbacks and hardships can lead to personal development, new opportunities, and a more appreciative perspective on life.
My mantra has always been that everything happens for a reason, and I truly believe this. In my faith, I know that God brings people and situations into my life for a specific reason. I don’t always see that at first, but clarity comes with time. In the most difficult times or with the most challenging people, I grow the most. It’s not easy to see the silver lining in the dark clouds, but it’s there. God gives me the strength to move through the darkness and back into the light. He always shines the light on my path.
I look at design in the same way. Every space has its potential even the smallest or the most undesirable of spaces. Just as every ugly duckling transforms into a beautiful swan, and a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly, an old piece of furniture can be restored to its beauty and so will your design. Voila! There’s the silver lining, You just have to dream it and believe it.
The way I see it…if designing is something that feels hard and unachievable, you are in the right place. If I can help you grow your confidence in designing your own space, then you will become confident in all you do. My mission is to help you grow beyond your own expectations. Blogging did not come easy to me. I went through so much self-doubt and fear I was paralyzed. I felt more vulnerable than ever!!! So, my friend, if I can learn something new, believe me, SO CAN YOU! Let’s get you out of your comfort zone and into a world of new possibilities! I can’t promise it will be easy, but I can assure you it will be so worth it!
